TIPS: How to keep your parsley-mint fresh / Bien conserver son persil et sa menthe

Don't you hate it when unused parsley goes bad? Especially when your intention was to make great healthy meals that week? Well follow this trick and you will be able to conserve your parsley for up to 2 weeks in the fridge ( maybe even longer). I personally tend to buy a whole bunch, especially when on sale, and end up discarding at least half when the leaves wither ( usually by day 7).

There are lots of great recipes and sauces utilizing this amazing herb:

  1. Clean your parsley or mint leaves and pad them down dry with a paper towel.

  2. Fill the bottom of a glass container (enough liquid to cover the roots of your parsley). Plastic containers also work. *

  3. Place your parsley or mint in the container.

  4. Cover the leaves with a plastic bad ( could be a ziploc bag for example)

  5. Store in a safe section of your fridge and enjoy whenever needed for up to 2 weeks! It will remain fresh.

  6. Make sure to still wash leaves prior to use with diluted baking soda or vinegar.

    * You can recycle your jam, mustard or tomato sauce jar! No need to buy new ones. Indeed buying recyclable containers allow you to get the best bang for your buck. We routinely use them to store food, spices, drinks, yogurt ect. since they seal very well.
