Eat balanced and delicious meals. Learn from different diets and cultures and create magic for your body, mind and spirit. Food can be therapy with no compromise on taste whether you choose to be a carnivore or a herbivore.
No debate needed, just respect of the people, their choices and opinions.
I am a senegalese & malian young public health-trained scientist and engineer who loves to cook. Through this blog, I hope to merge and communicate my passion for food, health, history, travel and African culture. Of particular interest to me is the topic of autoimmunity and chronic inflammation (composing a vast majority of my doctoral thesis). Hence why most recipes will be health-conscious.
Prevention is the best form of therapy.
My inspirations are very diverse due to my multi-ethnic and multi-cultural exposures. I grew up in Africa and Europe and subsequently lived in America. Throughout my studies, I met and lived with individuals of multiple backgrounds and had the chance to travel to culinarily rich-cultures. All of the afore mentioned experiences very much contributed to making me a better cook while staying true to my African influences - there is nothing like home-made food cooked by my Mums.
I have been cooking since age 5. While many of my peers picked sports and art as an after-school activity, I decided to sign up for a cooking, a sport and an art course. I improved my culinary skills when I was left to live on my own while trying to recreate those savors, smells and memories from home in my dorm — not only for myself but also for my to be husband, who is my harshest and best critic.
Why now, why a blog when I already have such a busy job? Well, why not? Why fit in a box. This blog is also in honor of all of my acquaintances that have been encouraging me to start one.
Cook, maybe share, eat, no justification.
